CITY INN BIRMINGHAM PROVIDES
AN EXCELLENT WELCOME – IT’S OFFICIAL!
City Inn Birmingham has been awarded the prestigious Corporate Welcome to Excellence Status by Heart of England Tourism in recognition of the commitment to training and customer care shown by the management and staff at one of Birmingham’s newer hotels at Brindley Place.
Sahar Najafi, HR Manager at the City Inn Birmingham said, “We are delighted to be given the Corporate Welcome to Excellence Status as part of our work toward achieving the Quality in Birmingham Award. Developing our staff through quality training will ensure that City Inn customers receive excellent service and experience, and that we will continue to deliver a consistent high quality in all aspects of our operation.”
The Award is the culmination of involvement by City Inn with the Quality in Birmingham Initiative, a drive by the council and Marketing Birmingham to build the city as a destination by helping businesses adopt good practice in training and development. Marketing Birmingham has provided funding for City Inn to undertake the training delivered by the team at Heart of England Tourism. As City Inn has provided training to over 50% of its staff under the Welcome to Excellence Customer Care Training Courses, they have been awarded Corporate Status which allows City Inn to use a range of Welcome to Excellence material for advertising and marketing purposes. The training was facilitated by the Birmingham Hotel and Catering Academy who also provide a range of other training to City Inn including apprenticeships.
Ivor Marsh, Tourism Quality Manager at Marketing Birmingham said, “Birmingham hosts over 23 million visitors each year and they all expect, and deserve, good service. Quality in Birmingham is about ensuring businesses are in a position to support Marketing Birmingham’s bid to build the city into a national, European and international quality destination that keeps visitors coming back again and again.”
On presenting City Inn with Corporate Welcome to Excellence status Alison Powell, Head of Training at Heart of England Tourism, commented, “Our congratulations to City Inn Birmingham for this award which demonstrates, in a tangible way, their commitment to providing its customers with excellent service standards.
