Welcome to Excellence expands into new service sectors
Welcome to Excellence, the UK’s leading customer service management training programme, have announced the launch of two new courses, ‘Welcome Host for Local Authorities’ and ‘Welcome to Health.’
Both the new courses are based on the well known ‘Welcome Host’ course, regarded as the definitive customer service training course in England, and they have been tailored to meet the needs of local authorities and the healthcare sector respectively.
Managed by Regional Tourist Board Partnerships Ltd, Welcome to Excellence is delivered throughout England by the regional tourism organisations.
The two new courses represent a further move by Welcome to Excellence to broaden their offering away from their core tourism and leisure market and towards meeting the needs of other sectors in the service economy.
Sue Gill of Regional Tourist Board Partnerships Ltd says ‘We are now seeing mounting recognition of the importance of great customer service by many different types of organisations in both the private and public sector. We have developed these specially customised courses as training is more powerful if people feel it relates directly to their sector and when all practical examples are immediately relevant to them. We also offer customised versions of Welcome Host for the financial services sector and the Church, and we are actively developing further versions aimed at other sectors.

Julie Fox of St.Helens Council, who has worked closely with Welcome to Excellence on the development of ‘Welcome Host for Local Authorities’ says:
“We see this as a big step forward that will allow St.Helens to increase customer service skills throughout the organisation. Over time, we plan that all of our 8000 staff will take part in the training.”
