Bombay Sapphire

The Bombay Sapphire Gin Distillery at Laverstoke Mill in Hampshire recently held a celebration event to mark being awarded the esteemed Welcome to Excellence corporate accreditation. Sue Gill, Training Services Director from Tourism South East, presented
a special plaque to Dan Smith, Sales, Marketing and Events Manager and congratulated the company on its commitment to achieving excellence at all levels. Several members of staff were also presented with their nationally recognised Welcome Host Gold certificates and City and Guilds Level 2 customer service awards.

This is the first time that the Bombay Sapphire Gin Distillery has opened its doors to visitors with an exciting and unique array of behind the scenes experiences, innovative self discovery ‘journeys’ and a range of workshops and master classes. The careful renovation of the historic buildings and high standards in design has gone hand in hand with a desire to provide world class standards of service.

‘We wanted to offer our visitors the best possible welcome from day one of opening,’ said Dan ‘and we looked around for the most comprehensive tourism customer service training programme. All our staff including managers, attended Welcome Host Gold courses and since opening the feedback has been fantastic with glowing feedback from our visitors.’

Sue Gill, on presenting the certificates and awards said ‘Great customer service defines an organisation and it’s really all about the warmth of welcome and exceeding expectations’. The Bombay Sapphire Gin Distillery chose Welcome Host Gold because it offered award winning training to suit their own business needs and the content fitted their ethos of excellence and high quality.’

All the staff who participated in the Welcome Host Gold training felt that it added significantly to the internal company training programme and demonstrated the commitment and importance that they place on staff development.

‘I would highly recommend the Welcome to Excellence suite of training from Tourism South East. The Welcome Host Gold courses have really set our team up for success and the feedback has been fantastic’, said Dan.
