Bournemouth Ambassadors offer a warm summer welcome
The new National Coastal Tourism Academy, recently established in Bournemouth, has launched a Bournemouth Ambassador training module for local tourism industry staff. The module is designed to ensure Bournemouth visitors receive the warmest of possible welcomes. It focuses on what the town and surrounding area offer visitors alongside some introductory customer service tips in a multiple choice format. On successful completion, the trainee receives an Official Bournemouth Tourism Ambassador Certificate and has the opportunity to go on and achieve a Level 2 City and Guilds customer service award through Welcome to Excellence training.
The module has been warmly welcomed by the town’s tourism industry and dozens of businesses plan to encourage their staff to complete the training from a variety of sectors including hotels, language schools, seafront rangers, restaurant workers and more. Once it has been rolled out to the town’s tourism industry, the NCTA will publicise the course to tourism students at Bournemouth University, colleges and sixth forms, and then to the town’s residents.
