Businesses in Staffordshire first to sign up to new Successful Selling course
Tourism businesses in Staffordshire have been the first to benefit from the launch of a new course developed by the well known Welcome to Excellence brand and courses will soon be available across the whole of England.
Places on ‘Successful Selling’ were snapped up quickly because of the endorsement and support of Destination Staffordshire, the region’s Destination Management Organisation (DMO) and through subsidies from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
The course, hosted by the National Memorial Arboretum was attended by staff from some of the county’s top tourism and visitor destinations, including Staffordshire Wildlife Trust, Visit Lichfield, The Trentham Estate and the National Memorial Arboretum. These organisations are already well known as being active Staffordshire Ambassadors and they were all keen to enhance sales and convert more bookings for their individual businesses as well as boost tourism revenue for the local area.
The training was delivered on behalf of Destination Staffordshire by Tourism South East and Sue Gill, Training Services Director said ‘Destination Staffordshire were quick to see the potential for local businesses and also the wider visitor economy and it builds on a range of business support and training already available through the ERDF.’
Commenting on their attendance, Beverley Summers and Gill Welch from the National Memorial Arboretum said: ”We really enjoyed the networking aspect and hearing about different selling techniques. The course met and exceeded our expectations and made us more aware of the importance of having a structured approached.”
Emily Robinson from Lichfield District Council added ”The course has made me feel less nervous about completing a sale!”
To celebrate the launch of the new nationwide course Welcome to Excellence are offering an introductory price of £90 for individuals on an open course and £850 for group in-house course bookings.
