Welcome to Excellence Trainer receives prestigious Tourism Award
Carol Wager, one of the longest serving Welcome to Excellence trainers, has been recognised for her outstanding achievement to tourism.
The announcement was made at the glittering South West Tourism Excellence Awards ceremony held in the Great Hall of the Grand Pier at Weston Super Mare on 12th February 2015.
Her achievement has been universally celebrated as details went viral through Face book and Twitter with hundreds of course participants and other contacts sending messages of congratulations and tweeting about her wonderful people skills.
On presenting the Outstanding Contribution to Tourism Award, Chair of Judges, Alistair Handyside, praised Carol for her passion in delivering outstanding customer service training to over 7,000 tourism employees across the South West region. She has also delivered customer service training to at least a further 2,000 participants in other areas including the East and West Midlands and the South East.
‘This Award is thoroughly deserved, Carol has been a real asset to Welcome to Excellence’ said Sue Gill, Training Services Director of Tourism South East and National Co-ordinator for Welcome to Excellence Ltd. ‘She always receives fantastic feedback from course participants and delivered training to a hugely diverse range of clients including taxi drivers, arts and museums staff, hoteliers, B & B and guest house proprietors, visitor attractions, local authority staff and many more.’
Typically Carol was very unassuming about her success ‘when they started to talk about the person who had won the Award I thought how strange that there was someone else who had done similar things to me and when my name was announced I was in a state of shock! I still can’t believe it and feel so proud’ she said.
