Bookings on open courses can be made by individuals and employees from different organisations. These take place at a set location and date. We provide the experienced trainer, all course materials, venue and light refreshments.
One of the advantages of attending an open course is the opportunity to meet and discuss ideas with other participants from a variety of organisations and backgrounds. It also enables a number of staff to go through the programme over a period of time causing less disruption to the running of your business.
Open courses are run in some geographical areas throughout the Autumn/Winter. Please contact your local Welcome to Excellence Co-ordinator for up to date information on availability, course dates and venues near to you.
In-house (or in-company) training can be run virtually or on-site at your premises. We provide an accredited and experienced trainer, participant materials, lapel badge (where appropriate) and Welcome to Excellence certificate.
Courses can be off-the-shelf or tailored to suit your business needs.
Welcome to Excellence courses are really flexible giving organisations and destinations the opportunity to work in partnership with us to develop tailor-made, fit for purpose content that is linked to the national customer service standards. We can develop a course from scratch or our clients can take full advantage of the Welcome to Excellence core course content and adapt or amend it as required. We can use client branding elements including logos, colours, fonts and photographs. Companies benefiting from this option include Brighton and Hove Buses, British Marine, Champion Timber, Gatwick Airport, Royal Museums of Greenwich, Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust, VisitEngland and VisitScotland.
We have extensive experience of developing ambassador and local knowledge destination programmes. These include Great West Way Discovery Programme: Welcome and Experience Development, Staffordshire Ambassador, Welcome to Cornwall, Welcoming Overseas Visitors, Welcome to Morecombe Bay and Welcome to the South Downs.
Sometimes it suits an organisation, business or project partnership to nominate a member of their own staff to become accredited to deliver one of the Welcome to Excellence courses in-house. This gives extra flexibility as courses can be run at a time to suit business needs and shift patterns as well as making sure the training is totally geared to requirements.
The first step is to take a look at the trainer specifications which outline the desired experience for course delivery.
Interested individuals will be asked for their CV (outlining relevant training experience and qualifications) so we can assess their suitability against the course specification. This is so we can ensure the quality of the training courses remains at a high level.
Trainer briefings for each course are delivered by 'Industry Expert Trainers' and these one-day sessions are arranged on demand for a maximum of 8 trainers. The briefing is intended to familiarise trainers with materials and methods of delivery. We also advise on dovetailing standard core content with company product knowledge and objectives (if appropriate).
New trainers may be advised to attend an open course prior to delivery if this is available on a local basis.
Prices are worked out on an individual basis and will vary according to course title and numbers attending.
Successful participants will receive full trainer support materials and a trainer certificate - all included in the price of the trainer briefing. We provide on-going advice and guidance and issue relevant amended materials when a programme is updated.
